Insight & guidance
As the nature of the coronavirus’ impact evolves, this will present significant challenges to businesses. At the heart of a rapidly developing situation it can be hard to know what decisions to take in the best interests of the long-term survival and success of firms.
Despite the unprecedented challenges, it remains critical for directors and management teams to proactively plan to mitigate the risks to their staff, business and stakeholders. We have collected insight from across Gateley on the key legal and business issues as a result of COVID-19 and will be updating this guidance as the situation develops over the coming days, weeks and months.

We can help you to find your ‘new normal’ post-COVID 19
The coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on all businesses, both large and small, and will continue to do so for a considerable amount of time. As business leaders start to look at what life will be like post-lockdown there are many things to consider. Whether it is looking at how you can drive change within the business, increase profits and market share, ensure employee safety or sustain your business, Gateley is on hand to provide support and guidance throughout.
Re-emergence Review
Our Re-emergence Review aims to provide businesses with the advice and support they need to confidently put in place plans which ensure they are on the best footing as they come out of lockdown. This will not only assist in keeping you up-to-date with the continuing government assistance schemes, legislative changes and market developments, but also provide an early legal “sense check” of key decisions you may want to take.
As social distancing measures are likely to be in place for the foreseeable future, we would conduct a virtual review of your business as an initial step. During the hour-long discussion, we will cover the current state of play for your business, any challenges and opportunities that you need to consider and any planned changes that you would like to make.
If required, we can draw on the specialist skills and expertise of legal and professional advisers across Gateley following this review.
The Re-emergence Review will allow you to focus on the business issues, whether they are financial, legal, strategic or leadership-related, with the support of subject matter experts who can provide you with the right advice and guidance at the right time.
We would plan to check in with you as part of the Re-emergence Review at least quarterly but more often if required, to ensure that you are getting the business support that you need, when you need it.
Our Re-emergence model:

“Britain’s economy is likely to lose out on £800bn of income over the next 10 years as the lockdown and a spike in unemployment leave deep scars on the private sector.”
- The National Institute of Economic and Social Research published in The Guardian, 28 April 2020
